London 1973

Dartford Tunnel, dark and headlong; we were leaving
for the coast, leaving our latter days behind, possessed
of purpose and proper insurance, ready for the open road
on which we might as well meet the world head-on.

Our goal was beyond. Heading for farther shores. London, no longer enough. Apart from the financial district to collect a green card. Where would any of us be without insurance?
