Viz - 1

In the days before, dullness was in fashion
and we knew our place.

Everyone who was no-one was invisible.

Managers in grey, officials, pin stripe,
workmen in dungarees, shopkeepers, drab cotton,
scientists in white coats, men in their uniforms

and housewives in house-coats, women
in overalls or turbans in factory, shop and bakery…

…men and women, separate, similar, defined.

In the days before, we lowered our eyes;
we knew our place.

Another split poem. As if two halves make a whole. I thought so but I wanted to use a moderate amount of text for the illustration. So the poem, Viz appears as Viz 1 and Viz2.

It's a game of two halves, they say. No-one thinks it's all over. Till it is…
