The last rays of Christmas
are scattered on the wall,
the final fading glitter
of a festive glitter ball.
The last light of Christmas
in the days before Twelfth Night
dims in darkened corners
lost to shadow, out of sight.
All our shiny geegaws
are wrapped and put away
till the ending of the coming year
brings another Christmas Day.

One for the end of the festive season prompted by an image posted on FB by my niece-in-law (is that a thing?).
It’s her image, by the way. Forgive the minor tweeness I might have let creep in.
Mind you, I do like the idea of general sparkliness hiding in shadows till the next time.
