One of those challenge that crop up in Facebook poetry circles.
“Write a diamante poem - about autumn.”
I like to try out poetic forms - if only to demonstrate that I can actually write within parameters. You know, like rhyme, metre and so on.
Found out that the form is ‘new’ (from 1969) and runs to 7 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1 words lines 1/7 being nouns, 2/6 adjectives, 3/5 verbs, and 4 nouns again. The first and last words can either be synonyms or antonyms.
Si I did this. Based on the orange pigment in autumn leaves. Oh, and Brumaire is the second (autumn, then) month in the French revolutionary calendar (from October 22 to November 22).
