Poetry24 - Again

I've had fifteen poems published by Martin at Poetry24 since January this year:

Here are those from July to September -

• But… • Face Mask Poet • Treble Chance •
• 451 • follow the water • Blind Eye •

But… - inspired by the Radio 4 Book of the Week - Hello World: read and written by Hannah Fry 11-15 September. Still available on iPlayer for 21 days.

But…

Face Mask Poet - prompted by a Daily Mail article on 3rd September about Instagram poet, Atticus. I found another article about him and his new book, perhaps more critical, certainly less Daily Mail. This poem isn't about him. It's about me. Well, him too, if you insist. The illustration is me but is definitely a parody of his book cover.

Face Mask Poet

Treble Chance - the news that the Littlewoods Pools Building had burned down., and it might have been arson.

Treble Chance

451 - following a violent attack by the far-right on a radical bookshop in London (Bookmarks); remembering Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.
111000011 is 451 converted from base-10 to binary, in case you're interested.

451

follow the water - water discovered on Mars coinciding with its solar opposition and its closest orbital point (56.7 million Km)

Blind Eye - extraordinary rendition (say no more…)

The January, February, March poems are linked here. April, May and June, here.

[Poetry24 publishes work responding to current news events. There's also a section, In Brief, for short, sharp reflections on current news. There are lots of good work  - try them.]
